Card for my husband's birthday and a great quote (prayer)

Sunday was my hubby's birthday.  I don't think it was one of his best ones unfortunately.  On the way to church a kind man driving in the car next to us informed us we had a flat tire.  So back home we headed, filled the tire with air and then we were REALLY late for church.  Came home and when he was fixing the tire he broke a stud.  Several hours later, stud is fixed and flat is fixed. (I think he is a stud:-)  But, we will need new tires before the end of summer.  Here is the card I made him for his birthday.  I should have stopped before the stickles but couldn't help myself, oh well.

My mother-in-law gave my dh a card with a bookmark attached and the quote on the bookmark was so good I wanted to share it with you all -

Lord, I have too much to do,
but it's all important.
Help me to set priorities
so that I don't feel lost
in the pace and the pressure.
Give me the wisdom
and energy
to accomplish what's necessary
without wasting time or effort.
And help me make
the best use of my day,
remembering that time
is a precious gift from You.

Bookmark and a birthday card

Bear with me while I post one more thing -
I made this book mark and birthday card for my daughter to give to her friend for her 13th birthday.  I used Smiley Cards for the phrase and emoticon.  I created the base of the card using George and my gypsy.  The book mark was also created on my gypsy and I used Mickey Font for the name.  I mod podged the bookmark to make it more durable.  Thanks for looking and have a great day!!  I was in a hurry and didn't give my stickles enough time to dry so they are a bit smudged - how embarassing!!!

Tri Fold Card

Last Saturday I watched a great tutorial over at She's a Sassy Lady on creating a trifold card similar to the designs of the ones that come on the new E2 cricut expression.  I just got my expression for this past christmas and am not needing a new one even though the E2 looks like a lot of fun.  But, I have loved the trifold cards that people have been making using the cartridge that comes preloaded on the E2.  Thank you Sheila for the great tutorial on how to create our own trifold card template.
Here is my first shot at a trifold card.  I must confess I liked it until I used my Bic Mark It's to highlight the edges of my cuts.  Not so happy with that part, oh well, it is what it is.

Tea Cup Card

About a week ago, Cindy over at The Creative Pointe was offering this teacup svg for free download as a part of a blog hop she was in.  I love teacups and even collect them but the funny thing is that I am really more of a coffee drinker than a tea drinker.  Anyhoo, I tweaked the svg file a bit and created this card.  Thank you Cindy for the great download!!

Cards for Soccer Coaches

I made these cards for my 9 yr old daughter's soccer coaches.  There are 2 dads who volunteer for this role and there were so many girls that they created 2 teams instead of 1 which means they give up their time double!!  We are going to give the coaches the cards signed by all of the girls and a gift card for each coach at our end of season banquet on Sunday.

couple of cards and a box

My dh is a high school drama teacher.  His play was this weekend and he had a few sets of parent volunteers to thank so of course I whipped up a few cards for him.  His high school is small and there isn't a lot of community support for drama because most of it goes to sports.  However, over the last few years a few parents have stepped up and started feeding the drama group pizza on the nite of their dress rehearsal.  Another parent gives up his time helping my husband build the set.  Now you will understand the cards I chose to make:-)  I also made a small cookie tower for the dad who helped with the set cuz he put in some long nights.  Nothing fancy, but it gave the kids a chance to be grateful.

Card made using Lettering Delight SVG

I received scal 2 for my mother's day present.  I purchased some svg's from lettering delights during the dollar days sale.  This particular cut is from banner days svg which is a freebie when you sign up as a member on their website.  The clouds and flowers are from Create a Critter.  I used my irock on the flowers and even tried sewing on my card, need to practice that skill more:-(  I used glossy accents on the umbrella and boots and a peachy keen stamp for the face.

Disney Blog Hop

Welcome to the Disney Blog Hop!!  You should have arrived here from Donna's blog.  If you would like to start at the top of the blog head on over to Sylvia's blog.
For my disney project I decided to make a teacher appreciation gift for my youngest daughter's teacher.  Her teacher is a Disneyland fanatic so this blog hop went great with her project!!  I followed a tutorial on Jan's Stamping Creations to make this cute box to house some antibacterial gel from Bath and Body Works.  I used the Minnie Mouse cut from Mickey and Friends and cut it out at 3 inches.

I have some blog candy for you.  You need to be a follower to be eligible for the candy.  Please leave a comment along with a way to get ahold of you.  Sorry but US shipping only.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend and a Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms:-)
