Surprise!!  I'm back :-)  I took a little break from blogging and also from crafting the last couple of months.  I took some time to recover from a car accident that happened in August.  Nothing major thankfully but it did take time to buy a new car (mine was totaled) and I had weekly appointments for chiropractic and massage (I did enjoy these appointments!).  We also had to put down our fur baby in September and that was a difficult month or so.  My oldest daughter moved out this past July after she got married and then my middle daughter moved out in mid December to be closer to her job.  I am down to one kiddo at home now.   Lots of changes happened!!  I also am not currently on a design team so I don't have any deadlines or specific products to use to spur on my creativity.  However I have missed my crafting time and recently took advantage of the snow days here in the Pacific Northwest to pull out some "new to me" stamps and play.  I decided to put together a card to enter it into the MFT Sketch Challenge.

I just love these adorable birthday bears!!  I challenged myself to work with more of a pastel color scheme.  I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to do all of my coloring.

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge -

My images and sentiment are from MFT's Birdie Brown "Beary Special Birthday" Stamp Set and I used a strip of patterned paper from MFT's "Homespun Gingham" 6x6 paper pad.  The sequins were from my stash.  I don't own the coordinating dies so I am still challenging myself to perfect my skills with my Silhouette Pixscan mat which I used with my scanner and my Cameo.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

  1. Happy to see you back Nicole!

  2. It's funny, Nicole. I saw your name in my inbox and thought, wow, it's been awhile since I saw a post from Nicole, then I read your post. Sorry you've had such a tough couple of months. I hope 2017 is much better for you.

Your card is just adorable, as always! So glad you're back to crafting. If you get the itch to be on a design team, you know where to find me! :) (hint, hint!)
