Leprechaun Hat using St. Patricks Day "Go Green" Set from SVG Attic

Hello everybody and happy Monday!!  I hope you had a great weekend and that your Monday is off to a good start:-)  I wanted to share with you a shaped card I made using the Leprechaun Hat from the "Go Green" svg set from SVG Attic.  I created a shadow using SCAL 3 and welded 2 of the shadows together to create the base of the card.  I cut out 2 hats, one in black for the outside of the card and the other in a light green for the inside of the card.  I did a little embossing with my cuttlebug, a little doodling with my white gel pen and used some green liquid pearls to jazz up the card.  The sentiment is hand written by moi.  I hope this inspires your creativity for St. Patrick's Day.  There are some great sets at SVG Attic to help you get your Irish on:-)  Check out the set I used and the Celtic Knots set (I will have a project for you in the future using this set:-)

Market Street "Block Party"

I heard about the block party from a fellow blogger and decided to check it out.  I had heard of Market Street stamps but I don't own any and had never even visited their website before.  I am glad I did.  They have a great selection of stamps!!  For my entry in the block party I used their digi stamp which was provided at the block party for those of us who don't own any of their stamps.  I traced and cut the image out on my Silhouette Cameo.  I also made a shadow of the image and cut that too.  I used my Bic Mark Its to color it in (I may have to save up and get copics one day:-)  I also added a 3d flower embellishment that is a cut file from Lori Whitlock.  This is one of my first 3d flowers ever and I am hooked!!  I ran the flower pieces through my cuttlebug and then with some perfect pearls mist.  The sentiments are from Scrappy Moms and My Pink Stamper.    Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you visit again soon:-)

Day 2 Cardz TV challenge #6 "anything goes"

I have another card for you using Cardz TV stamp set "Think Spring".  I just love this set!!  Once again, I used A Walk in My Garden Cricut Cartridge to make my card.  I created a shaped card using my Gypsy.  I cut two bases out for my card and glued them together and then scored the fold (see the picture for a better understanding).  I used glossy accents on my ladybug and embossed the leaf using my cuttlebug.
Make sure you head over to Cardz TV to enter in this challenge and be eligible to win a set of Mary's stamps!

Cardz TV Design Team Challenge #6

This time around Mary's challenge to the design team was "Anything Goes".  I knew right away that I wanted to make a project using the Cardz TV Stamp Set "Think Spring".  I am in love with this set!!  It has phrases that I always wished I had on hand when making cards using flowers on them.  I had been wanting to make a watering can pocket card for a couple of weeks now.  Do you find inspiration for your project in odd places?  I have a watering can shaped flower pot that sits by my front door.  For the past couple of weeks, I would walk by that and feel the need to make a card using a watering can on it.  So. . . here we are!!

All of my cuts are from "Walk in My Garden" Cricut Cartridge.  This is an oldie but a goodie:-)  Hop on over to Cardz TV to see the rest of the design team's projects.  Mary is giving away a set of her stamps again for this challenge.

Cupcake Birthday Card

I am trying to challenge myself to use some of my svg files and cricut cartridges that I have owned for awhile and have left neglected.  You know how it is, we are always excited about that next new thing (cartridge/svg set) that we forget to enjoy what we have:-)  This card is made using a Lettering Delights SVG from their J'Adore set.  I purchased this set during their last dollar days sale.  I created a shadow for the cupcake and welded two shadows together to make the card base.  The rest is pretty straight forward.  I did some embossing with my cuttlebug, added a little stickles and pen doodling, a sentiment from Cardz TV stamp set "Ticket Talk" and voila!!  I have a birthday card ready to go at a moment's notice.

I am going to enter this in the following challenges -

SVG Attic Design Team Day

Happy Friday everyone, Nicole here and today is my day to post a project for SVG Attic!!

My project for today is a cute box and gift card holder.  I made this for a family friend who is celebrating her 14th birthday on Saturday and has invited all 3 of my daughters to her party.  This particular 14 year old has a sweet tooth so we will be filling the box with some sugary treat along with a gift card to one of her favorite stores:-)

Inside of gift card holder

I used the puffy boxes svg collection to make the box.  I wanted it to resemble a cupcake so I cut it out twice in two different papers.  I trimmed the blue polka dotted paper so that it looked like a cupcake wrapper.  I then glued the pink box inside of the polka dotted "wrapper".  Using the same bright colors I made the gift card holder using the be mine set.  This gift card holder is so quick and easy to make - I know I will be using it a lot because we do a lot of gift cards for presents.  But, don't let this set fool you, even though it appears to be a Valentine/love related set, it could be used for so many different occasions.  Included in this set is a 3d rose!!  We all know that 3d paper flowers are all the rage right now.  I am currently working on putting some together.  There is a great tutorial for putting these flowers together on youtube.

Valentines Party

my dd decorating her cookies:-)
I wanted to share with you some pictures and projects from a Valentines Party I threw for my 9 year old daughter and 5 of her school friends.  First let me remind you about the sale going on over at SVG Attic.  50 % off everything now through Tuesday!!  The sale was extended due to some technical issues over the weekend so don't delay in grabbing up some fun svg files.  If you have questions about working with SVG files, just leave me a comment with a way to get a hold of you and I would be happy to help answer your questions.

Now back to my daughter's party -
the party began with some crafting, making Valentines cards of course:-)  I created "folders" using some white cardstock and filled the folders up with precut patterned paper and cardstock.  I cut some various Valentine shapes out for the girls to embellish their cards with.  I also printed off some Valentine digi stamps I have collected.  These girls were very creative!!

After we finished making cards, we enjoyed a heart shaped pizza and began decorating heart shaped sugar cookies and chocolate cupcakes, yumm!!
Just look at all of that sugar!!

"I {heart} U" Blog Hop - Cardz TV

Thanks for joining the "I {heart} U" Blog hop hosted by the Cardz TV design team. If you are just joining you may wish to start at the beginning of the hop with Mary. I will also have the list of blogs at the end of my post in case you get lost along the way.
My project is made using a box from the Cricut Spring Holiday Cards Cartridge. I added a heart cut out by using a heart from the Cricut Classic Font Cartridge. I cut my box twice - once with patterned cardstock and once with white cardstock and glued the two together as I wanted it to be a sturdy box. I used some acetate for the heart window. I then made a 3x3 card using the heart that was cut from the box. I embellished both projects with some liquid pearls and used my Irock to bling up the box. The crinkle ribbon is homemade and I added the button with some pink twine from My Minds Eye. On the back of the box I used my Peachy Keen stamps to "doll" up a couple of more hearts. The smaller hearts are cut out using my Creative Memories heart punch.
All of my sentiments were stamped with Cardz TV Stamp set "Be My Valentine". Thanks for stopping by and make sure you check out the blog candy before you leave:-)

SVG Attic Design Team Day

*** This is my 2nd post of the day:-)  Make sure you check out the Cardz TV Stamps design team post here ***

So today is my day to post a project using SVG Attic's wonderful svg files.  I am so excited to be a part of the SVG Attic design team and after working with Jessica's files I am even more excited. I was sooo happy when I saw the 3d Valentine boxes in the Heart Shaped Box set.  I decided to work with this set give the woven basket a try.  I love the mix of brown (which resembles chocolate:-) with red.  I also made the penguin card using the My Valentine set.  I referred to the pdf files for both of these projects that come with the file set when you purchase them.  Let me say that both of these projects went together quickly!!  I highly recommend using a wet glue with a bit of "forgiveness" when putting the basket together that way it gives you time to shape it as you are glueing it.

I really want to point this out to those of you who may be new to using svg files.  I know a lot of us have gotten Silhouette Cameos over the last few months and it may be your first time playing with svg files.  I work with SCAL 3 (sure cuts a lot).  The SVG Attic files come with a pdf file that give you help in putting together your projects.  I love the way Jessica makes her files easy to size - this is not the case with all svg files I have worked with.  Anyhow, onto the actual project but let me just say if you have any questions about working with svg files  feel free to leave me a comment on my blog.

I am entering my projects in the following challenges:

Basket - Decorate to Celebrate: Valentine's Party

Cardz TV Design Team "Tickled Pink" challenge

So this time around Mary challenged the design team to create a card or project using pink as your primary color.  Again, this challenge is open to everyone and Mary will be giving away a Cardz TV stamp set of your choice to the lucky winner.  I chose to make a card based off of a card I saw on pinterest as inspiration.  You can see that card here.  I used some scraps to create my card and even did a bit of sewing on my card.  The heart tag is from Cricut Classic Font and my sentiments are  from Cardz TV Stamp set "Be My Valentine".    The cute ribbon is from American Crafts and I put a few adhesive gems on for some bling:-)

Head on over to Cardz TV to see the rest of the design team's projects and to enter a project in the challenge.

SVG Attic design team - February challenge "use a heart"

So, I get to let the cat out of the bag today (insert big grin here:-) I have been selected to join the SVG Attic design team!!  I am so excited to work with Jessica and the rest of these talented ladies.  I have followed a few of these ladies' blogs for awhile now.  I am also enjoying working with my Silhouette Cameo and Scal 3.  For my project I challenged myself to work with the "print and cut" feature with the cameo.  I must confess I do not have it perfected yet using Scal 3 but it is getting better each time.  In fact, when I was really having issues in the beginning stages, the great people over at Craftedge (makers of Scal) worked with me and tweaked their software to make it work better.  Don't you love it when you receive great customer service!!

I used the heart tree from SVG Attic's "Give a Hoot" collection which you can find here.  I printed out the trunks of my trees as well as my sentiment.  I then cut the hearts for the trees.  I popped up the center heart with some foam tape and added a red heart brad to it.  I used another heart on the inside of the card to keep the theme going there too.

Make sure you head over to SVG Attic blog to meet the rest of the design team and get some more inspiration for the February challenge.  I encourage you to join us in this challenge - after all, what better month to make a project using a heart??  You can find out all the "specifics" over at the blog!!

Stop back in on Friday and see how I used a file from this new SVG Attic Heart Shaped Box set to make a cute Valentine's gift!!
