Baby Card - My Scrap Chick dt post

Happy Sunday!!  I have a baby card to share with you that I created for a special somebody in my life using some fun files from My Scrap Chick.

for my card I used the My Scrap Chick "Onesie Girls Tutu Easel Card".  I chose this card file because my friend is having a girl and she is also a dance teacher.  We were coworkers for many years and she has even taught one of my kiddos.

Since I am mailing my card I wanted to create a matching envelope that would allow room for the dimension of my card so I used My Scrap Chick's "Chunkie A2 Envie Fancy" set.  I used the same paper as I did on my card to make them coordinate.

Christmas in July - My Scrap Chick DT

Happy 5th of July!!  I hope you had an enjoyable holiday weekend/celebration my USA friends!!  I am sharing a Christmas in July project I created for My Scrap Chick.  The design team will be showcasing projects centered around Christmas all this week.  I am so glad to be working on some Christmas projects this far in advance as I always have such great intentions in the fall/winter to do so many and then the busyness of the season makes it hard to keep up with my goals!  Anyone else feel that way??  So for my project I created some gift bags -

well 3 of them to be exact ;) 

I had purchased a set of plain, colored gift bags some time ago from a local craft store with the intentions of creating decorated bags.  I used a few different files from My Scrap Chick for the images on the front of my bags.

I took the images from the front of the "treat boxes" and enlarged them to fit propotionately on the front of the gift bags.  I hope I have inspired you with some holiday projects!  Thanks for stopping by today!!

Congrats Grad!! - MSC dt

Tis the season for grad parties!!  We had a special one to attend yesterday and I created a special card and drink tumbler for the grad.

To create my card I used My Scrap Chick's "Girl Grad Emoji Box".  I deleted the layers for the box and only used the layers for the emoji.  I then created an offset and cut two of them to create my card base.  I scored one of the offsets about 1 inch down and adhered the two offsets together with some scor tape.  I added the bling since all the grads like to decorate their caps these days!  I also used some glossy accents to the sunglasses.

For the drink tumbler I used My Scrap Chick's "Grad's With Class" set and cut out vinyl in colors that matched the recipient's school colors.  I then filled the tumbler with money - all in $1 bills!!

School gets out in late June here so I know many of you are past graduation season but I hope I have inspired you for future opportunities.  Thanks for stopping by today!!

#birthday wishes - MSC dt

Happy Tuesday my crafty friends!!  I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend and perhaps even got some crafty time in!!  My hubby's birthday was yesterday and I wanted to share with you the card I made for him -

I used My Scrap Chick's "Hashtag Birthday Wishes" file and created a shaped card with it.  I used my Silhouette software and created a large offset of the base layer from the cut file (the gray part of the card).  I cut the offset out twice from some heavy cardstock (110 pound).  Because the offset was long I couldn't weld and make a base for my card in one cut so instead I scored the bottom layer of the card with my Scor Pal at about 1 inch in from the left and used some Scor Tape to adhere the two layers together thus creating my card base.  The photo below shows this more clearly -

I used some bright colored papers to make the card fun and added some balloons which I cut out from My Scrap Chick's "Snowball's Havin' A Ball" file.  I decided to use twine for the string on my balloons and finished up the card with some bright enamel dots and pen stitching using my white gel pen.

Comfy Chair Easel Card - MSC dt

Happy Monday my crafty friends!  I hope you moms had a great mothers day yesterday!!   I wanted to share a card I made specifically for a friend who is going through some health issues and I thought this card would be the right "touch" to let her know I am thinking about her.  I used the "Comfy Chair Easel Card" file from My Scrap Chick to create this card.  The fun with putting this card together is selecting the papers/patterns for your chair ;) 

My friend really likes retro - furniture, clothes, hair, etc. ... so I tried to make my chair with that concept in mind.

I didn't photograph the back side but I added a square of blank white cardstock to the underside of the card for a place to write a note.  Thanks so much for stopping by today - I hope I have inspired your crafty side today ;)

Mother's Day Purse Tote Bag - MSC dt

Hi there my crafty friends!!  I had a moment this weekend to get a head start on some Mother's Day projects and wanted to pop in and share my creations with you.  I created these Purse Tote Bags to fill with some goodies for both my mom and my mother in law.  

I used the My Scrap Chick "Trendy Tote Bag and Purse" file to cut these out.  The patterned paper is from Joanns.  I wanted to add a tag to the tote bags so I used another file from My Scrap Chick -  "Rubber Ducky Tag"  which is my favorite file lately to use for making tags. 

I used adhesive velcro for the closure so that the bag could be opened and reused.

I had the perfect sentiment from an older Cardz TV Stamps' set to add to my tags!!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!!  I hope I have inspired you with some ideas for Mother's Day or another special occasion!

Spring Birdhouses - My Scrap Chick DT

Happy Wednesday my crafty friends!!  I have a fun spring inspired craft project to share with you today!!  We keep getting glimpses of spring here in the Pacific Northwest and then we get even more glimpses of rain!!  So I needed to create something to remind me that sunnier spring days were on the horizon and this is what I came up with -

I used two different My Scrap Chick files to create these -

These birdhouse boxes can be used for a treat box too!!  I am probably going to use mine for decoration only but nice to have the option on hand!!  Here's another look -

Happy 1st Day of Spring!! - MSC dt

Happy 1st Day of Spring!!  Hope you are having some spring like weather where you are - we had a beautiful sunny day yesterday but today is back to the normal rainy day of the Pacific Northwest.  After too many years of remodeling our house, I finally feel like I am at a place where I can start decorating.  I bought some cute little table top decorations at Joanns yesterday and that inspired my creativity for the project I am sharing with you today -

I used the "Carrot Patch Box" to create the carrots and fence box.  I created the grass border around the bottom edge of the fence using the "Easter Title and Bunnies" set.  I finished off by using some ladybug stickers, a bluebird sticker and ribbon, twine and buttons from my stash.  My sentiment is from an older Cardz TV Stamps set.  I decided to glue my carrots into the base since this is for decoration and not for treat holding ;)

Rosettes on a Stick - MSC dt

TGIF!!  and the sun finally peeked out at us here in the Willamette Valley!!  Today I have a project to share with you that I created for My Scrap Chick.  I created a couple of "Rosettes on a Stick" or what are also sometimes referred to as "Lollipop Cards".

To create my rosettes I used My Scrap Chick's "Straight Edge Rosettes".  I used the file for the medium sized rosettes and the one that is 4 inches.  The set comes with several cutting files to create small, medium and large rosettes in 3 different sizes each.  The best part about these rosettes is that you tie them together with string - super easy!!  There is a pdf included with instructions on how to do this - make sure you read this first before trying to create these :-) !!

I also used a few cut files from the "Rubber Ducky Tag" to create the scalloped and plain circle layers.  I used a few stamped images I had in my stash leftover from #thedailymarker30daychallenge.  I popped my stamped images up with foam tape to create more dimension.  I used ribbon, buttons and twine from my stash and hot glued those on.  The straws were purchased in the Easter section from WalMart last year.  

For the back side of my rosettes I cut a large circle out (Rubber Ducky Tag again) in a color coordinating cardstock.  I then did a print and cut using the "Birthday Round Tags".  I chose to leave the center of the tag plain thinking that perhaps I would write in a name of the recipient and add them to a gift bag for a upcoming birthday present.

My card was made using a cut file from My Scrapchick.  I believe it was a freebie quite some time ago but I am sure you can probably still purchase it in their store.  I thought the larger sentiments from Craftin Desert Divas "Say It Big" stamp set would work perfect in the ovals.  Since we have so many birthdays in the upcoming month I chose the birthday sentiment from the set.

I think it is handy to have some larger sized sentiment stamps and I really do get quite a bit of use out of this stamp set.

"Smile" - 3GJ dt post

I have a fun project to share with you today for my 3 Girl JAM design team post.  I made this cute camera box using a file from My Scrapchick.  I created this for a good friend of mine who graciously did my middle daughter's senior photos for free.  She did an amazing job with the pictures and I really value her time so I filled the box with chocolate treats and some cash too :-)  I used a couple of 3 Girl JAM products to help decorate my box.  

For the bow on the front of my box I used 3GJ "Gold Crown crinkle ribbon" from the Royal bundle and made a double bow using the 3GJ bow maker.  

On the top of my box I used a new product to the 3 Girl JAM store - diagonal striped ribbon.  I used the orange and made a double bow and glued it to my button.

My sentiment is from Craftin Desert Divas' "Say it Big" set.
