Inking It Up Design Team

For our second project on Kassidy's design team we were asked to make a project using a font cartridge or a phrase from a cartridge. I chose the latter and made this cute card which I gave to my daughter on her birthday. (Monday:-)

Card Recipe:
phrase - Paisley Cartridge
hanger - Everyday Paper Dolls
dress - Gypsy Wanderings
designer paper from my stash (old stuff:-)
cardstock - Recollections
flowers - Primas

Ruby Tuesday Scripture Card

I made this card for my  Aunt who is just getting out of the hospital after having some health issues.  I used a Ruby Tuesday Scripture from Dee's Bugaboo Boutique for the sentiment.  The frame and flower are from a freebie svg set  I got My Grafico designed by Sherry K.  The beautiful background paper is from K and Company.

Feed the cat. . .

I made this card as a thank you for our neighbors who took care of our cat during our last camping trip.  My cat is quite the character.  He is huge!!  He is just under 20 pounds and I monitor his food intake but he is just plain big.  Needless to say he loves his food to be available at the correct times of day or he will begin to "talk" to me reminding me that his food dish is empty:-)  However he is also the biggest scaredy cat and hides when people come over.  So my neighbors joke that they wouldn't believe I had a cat except that they fill the food dish and come back later and the food is gone - the only proof of my cat's existence.
Anywho I used an svg from Lettering Delights sneak peek called Chicken Fat Alley Cat Cut Its.  I printed out the sentiment using Scal 2.   I added the phrase bubble by hand because it was an afterthought.

Inking It Up Crazy Design Team Post

So today is the day Kassidy is introducing us as her current design team.  She asked us to make and present a project that represented our style.  I think my style is evolving but in general I like to keep it fairly simple.  I often forget to "ink" the edges or add extra layer to my stuff cuz I am in a hurry.  I feel like the blogs I subscribe to and the information I get from the cricut message board help create my style.  I become more creative because all of you are so creative so thank you so much for sharing your creativity!!

This card was made using the Wedding Solutions Cartridge.  One of my dance students got married last weekend and I made the card for her.  The design paper is from an old Target dollar section paper pack.  The gold paper is also found at Target in the dollar section of the craft aisle.  It cut well:-)  on my cricut.  I pleated the ribbon using red sticky tape and added some Recollection pearls.  The sentiment is from the $1 bin at Michaels.  (Can you tell I craft on a budget?)

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to Inking It Up Crazy to see the rest of the design team posts - you will not be disappointed!!  An update on the dead cricut (see my previous post to learn more) . . .provocraft will replace it with a refurbished one but it will not be plum like my current one, sniff, sniff

My expression just died!!

Help!!  Call 9-1-1!!  I think my expression just died.  I have the plum one from Walmart Black Friday 2010.  I had just finished a cut and was talking to my hubby when we heard a weird noise and then nothing.  I looked at my E and the screen was black.  I tried plugging it in a different outlet - no luck.  Anybody else experience this!!  For all the money we invest in these babies they ought to hold up better than that!!  I will call PC tomorrow but would appreciate any advice too:-)  Keep you posted.  Good news is I still have my baby bug!

couple of cards using Lettering Delights svgs

Here are a couple of cards I have made over the last month using LD svg/cut it sets.  I just love how cute their svg/cut it sets are!  I am so inspired by Jin at Under a Cherry Tree.  I am not in love with the clam however.  I think I made him too big and just couldn't find the right stamp or sentiment to go with him, oh well!!

The paper is just scraps I have had in my collection for far too long:-)  I am challenging myself to use what I have!!  That includes exploring my cartridges and svg files for cuts I have never even used before.  I added stickles and pearls to the clam card.  "Hi" is from scrappy moms.  I used a corner punch on the kyoto cutie card.

Anniversary Cards

Yesterday was my 19th wedding anniversary!  I made this cute card for my hubby.  I LOVE peanut butter and usually consume it daily so this card makes more sense when you know that:-)  The cuts are from Lettering Delights Stuck On You set.
I made the card using scal 2 and tried the Print and Cut with it but I fear I failed at it. So if you have ever used the print and cut with scal 2 and have advice please do not hesitate to leave a comment.

Now I will share with you the card my husband made for me with the help of one of my daughters.  He has never used my cricut before.  One other anniversary he got into my rubber stamps and used tons of different stamps to make me a cute card.  Maybe he needs his own blog??:-)

Thanks a Bunch!!

Made this card for 3 of my dance students who brought me fresh carrots last week and cherries the week before.  They are so thoughtful:-)

The carrots are from Create a Critter.  The frame is Elegant Edges.  Paper is Recollections and DCWV.  Twine is peapod from The Twinery.  The stamp is an "oldie" from my earlier stamping days from a company called Imaginations.

Entering this one in Die cuttin Divas Challenge #27.  Thanks for stopping by today!!

Berry Sweet

Made a few "fruity" cards to enter into this weeks Cricut Cardz Challenge.  These cards took me forever to make.  I just was not "feeling the crafty mojo" but in the end I like them.  There was a moment where I thought they would all end up in the recycling bin:-)  I know you understand what I am saying.  Sometimes when I create my dance choreography it feels the same way.  I will tell my students that it feels like I am "giving birth" when I am creating a dance that doesn't go together easily for me.  I have had a few dances over the years that felt like birthing twins, LOL!!  In the end I always love those pieces - it is just an act of faith for me that God will give me what I need the moment I need it and He always comes through:-)  Have a great Monday!!  It is starting off cloudy and cool here and my first class of the day is an outdoor water aerobics class - BRRRR!!!

Card Recipe:

strawberry - Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut Cartridge
flowers - prima
thread - memory yarn
designer paper - Recollections
cardstock - Recollections
glossy accents
Berry Sweet - computer generated
thanks ever so much - Michaels $1 stamp
liquid pearls

Card with lettering delights svg

I made this card for my next door neighbors using one of the Lettering Delight Cutsets -chicken fat alley available as a sneak peek at checkout.  My neighbors are such wonderful friends and sadly they are moving to Texas on Monday.  I am happy for their new adventures but sad at my own loss of "friends next door".  I tried to duplicate their "new" house colors for this card (they repainted their house to put it up for sale).  Tonight we are having a BBQ at our house with our neighborhood as a last farewell to them.

used liquid pearls on the bushes for "flowers" and stamped
grass on the background using versamark ink

used my peachy keen stamps on this sun

I also wanted to share a couple of pictures with you from our camping trip last weekend.  We live in Oregon and are only an hour away from the coast.  We headed over there with our cousins for fun in the dunes (went sandboarding), played in the ocean (my dog had a blast:-), rode on dunebuggies and caught crawdad!!
