Cany Corn Treat Bags - Carina Gardner guest post

Hi there my fellow crafters!!   Today I am posting on the Carina Gardner Blog and I am here today with a Halloween inspired project for you.

To create my Halloween treat boxes I used the following files from Carina Garnder -

I started off by opening up the Snowflake Favor Bag in my silhouette design studio.  I ungrouped everything and then resized the bag to 11.5 inches in height keeping the sizing "locked" so that the image increased proportionately in size.  I resized the layers for the sides of the bag too.  After I cut out the bag and the layers I glued those together and got to work on the candy corn swirl flourish.  I sized the flourish to fit the sides of my bag and then did an offset.  Since I used a striped paper for my bag I wanted to make sure the candy corn flourish stood out and didn't get lost in the busy background.  I used foam adhesive to pop my candy corn images up to give a bit of dimension to the bag.

I designed these to be given as a Halloween treat but they could easily be redone in fall colors to make it more of a "fall/Thanksgiving" themed treat bag.  I really like this treat bag and the versatility of it!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!  I hope I have inspired you today!

PDE challenge #34 - "Little Green Men"

Happy Friday everybody and welcome back to another Pause Dream Enjoy challenge.  This week the theme is "Little Green Men - ufo's, aliens or monsters in the closet).  I had so much fun with this challenge and I had the perfect monster cut from the Silhouette store to use for my project.  I also used a Lori Whitlock file from the silhouette store to make my card base (swing card).  The designer paper is from Michaels's and I used the tiny bubbles embossing folder.

The sentiment on the front of the card is from the Cardz TV stamp set "All about You" and the inside sentiment was a $ stamp from Michaels.
This week our challenge is sponsored by Clear Dollar Stamps and one lucky winner will get a $5 gift certificate to their store.

So, now it is your turn to create a project with "little green men" and maybe you will be that lucky winner to Clear Dollar Stamps!!  Click here to enter this week's challenge and to see the rest of the design team's projects for some inspiration!!
Now for those of you who don't own a Silhouette sd/cameo and want to make your own swing card, Splitcoastampers has a great tutorial here.

Guy Thank You Card

It seems like we all are challenged a bit when it comes to making cards for the male species but this time I think I "nailed it"!!  My hubby and I recently did some of our own concrete work (sidewalk and a driveway) and were fortunate enough to borrow some tools from a friend of ours who is a contractor.  We wanted to thank him and give him a gift certificate and my hubby suggested I make a card.  This is what I came up with - it is simple but effective I think!
The tools are from the Silhouette store and are Lori Whitlock files which can also be purchased in an svg format here.  The sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamp set "It's a Guy Thing".  I decided to make a tall card and on the inside I hand wrote "thanks for letting us play with your toys, here is a gift to buy yourself some new toys" and I included a gift card to Cabelas.

day 2 cardz tv stamps design team challenge

Happy Saturday my fellow bloggers!!  I wanted to share another card that I made using the "for the birds" Cardz TV stamp set.  I found this cute Echo Park bird file in the Silhouette Store.  I wanted to try a more layered look for the background of my card as I have been seeing this done a lot lately and thought it was cute.  The background paper is from a $1 paper pack that I bought awhile ago from Target.  All cardstock is Recollections as well as the cute ladybug sticker.  Don't forget to link your project up for the "Anything Goes" challenge - you may be the lucky winner of a set of Cardz TV stamps!!

Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge #30: sports or hobby theme

***for Cardz TV stamps design team challenge post scroll down***

This week the theme for the challenge at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge blog is sports/hobbies.  I love a lot of different sports and hobbies but I found this cute Echo Park bicycle file in the silhouette store and knew I had to use it!!  My paper is from My Mind's Eye "Stella Rose" 6x6 pad.  The crinkle ribbon is homemade and the sentiment is from Cardz TV Stamps.  I added some texture to the basket, brads to the wheels and some self adhesive pearls.

The prize for this challenge is sponsored by Squigglefly - digital stamps.  One lucky winner will get 3 items from the store!!  Remember to link your project up at Pause Dream Enjoy challenge blog and that lucky winner just might be you!!

Dance teacher thank you's

Whew!!  The last week of school into the first week of summer have been busy and full of joys and sorrow too.  My oldest daughter was elected to the student body as "historian" and she received 4 academic awards too!  The sad news is that our cat passed away suddenly the 2nd day after school let out - apparently he had a heart murmur and died suddenly from cardiac failure.  He was a lover boy and is deeply missed.  I did want to share with you some of the projects I made as thank you's for some of the special people in our lives.  Today I am sharing the thank you project I made for all of my daughters' dance teachers (minus myself of course and yes I teach them too:-)  I got the pail and garden stake from the dollar spot at Target about a month ago.  Both the word "dance" and the stick figure ballerina are from the Silhouette Store and are cut out of white vinyl.   I gave each teacher a bucket and put a plant in it (usually a tomato plant).  We used the 3x3 dance cards I made awhile back and added some variety of chocolate goody with the card in a bag.  Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a blessed day!!
