Well somehow my youngest dd's birthday always sneaks up on me! I guess it is because it is the 1st of April (yes, she is an April Fool's kiddo:-) and even though that is technically in April it is still smack at the beginning! She wants to combine Legos and Rock Band so we are doing a Lego Rock Band party and these are her invites. I made them today but they were not quick and easy. There was quite a bit of glueing! I got this great cut file for the drum set from http://amkscrap.blogspot.com/. I made a few changes to the file but nothing difficult.
I found a Lego font and used that on part of the inside of the invitation. The stamp on the front is from Heidi Grace but just doesn't stamp as well as I would like.

Blog Awards
I have received several blog awards this past week but have not had a chance to get them posted on my blog yet nor follow through with awarding them to others. So sorry but I have had a lot of chaos going on at our house. Besides painting my daughters bedroom which was a BIG project (cuz it involved doing the ceiling too), my neighbor is in ICU and we have been helping out with her son. Also my youngest dd has been home sick and now my middle dd has injured her leg and is on crutches and is in a lot of pain. So I am just a bit overwhelmed here.
A big thanks for those of you who have started following my blog. I am humbled and grateful that you would take the time to look at my projects. I hope this week finds the rest of you doing well.
God Bless:-)

It's Your Bird-Day!!
I believe this is my first "scene" card and let me tell you it was not a quick one to make but in the end I love it!! It came out on paper like I imagined in my mind:-)
The little green blob on the party hat is some green stickles and they look much better in person:-) They weren't dry yet when I took the picture, oops!
Recipe:
Bird from simply charmed
Sun, flowers and clouds from CAC
Party Hat from Sweet Treats
Cattails from Everyday Paper dolls (I think or else it was PDDU)
Grass behind cattails cut with my wavy trimmer from Creative Memories
MPS sentiment

1st Easter Card
I made a 5inch square card and did the ruffled ribbon technique again. I am hoping to get this one entered in the Bunny Challenge over at Cardztv.blogspot.com.
If you look closely you might even find a few cat hairs on this card as my cat likes to "help" me when I craft, LOL!

Smiley Cards Birthday Cake
I am so excited to have so many new followers:-) Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog and for deciding to follow me. I also appreciate Momo so much for her help in getting followers for those of us who have/had fewer followers or newer blogs. This card is made with the Scrappy Moms challenge in mind. I have a ton of birthdays coming up in the next couple of months including a lot of family members so I decided to make a birthday card for the challenge. The cake is from Smiley Cards. I gave the ruffled ribbon a try and have to say it was much easier than I thought it would be and I love the effect.
Recipe:
smiley cards for the cake
pattern paper Target dollar spot (last year)
cardstock Recollections
twine from the Twinery
stickles
ribbon from Michaels

DD and niece's cards
Yesterday I let my 3 daughters and my niece play with my little bug. They wanted to make cards to put in some of the challenges I had told them about:-) They came up with their own sentiments and typed them up on the computer. The horse card is a thank you card for their Uncle. The "stump" card was created by my youngest daughter (8yrs) and the inside says "Oak, It's today!" The turtle card was created by my 9 year old niece and the inside says "Sorry, I'm a little slow"
I entered the two birthday cards in the Birthday Sundaes 1st Challenge. I hope it is okay that I linked two cards for the challenge but neither of the young girls have their own blogs (yet:-)

Tulip any occasion card using only pink, green and white
This is a "simple" card using the tulip from Create a Critter. But why is it that whenever I make a "simple" card it feels anything but simple? You get done and stand back and look at what you made and think to yourself **"that's it?! all that time and that's it?"** Anyone relate?
Well, it is back to painting my daughters' room now. I took a break while I waited for my husband to be free to help me move some BIG furniture:-) thought it was a great time to make a card!!!
Have a great day!

Magnetic/dry erase boards for gifts
I have made over a hand full of these as gifts. They are super easy and rather economical and seem to work well as a gift idea for the average teenage girl:-) The paper can always be replaced with a different one so that the frames can be reused. Underneath the paper is a piece of metal to make it magnetic. I take the easy way out and just adhere coordinating stickers to my magnets. I then cut the recipients name out of vinyl in a color that coordinates and add that onto the glass.

Linking Party
I am participating in a Linking Party for newer/smaller blogs. Check it out here - crafting misfit linky party
Cricut Cardz Challenge - Thank You Card
The challenge this week was to make a thank you card using yellow and blue and a border cut from a cricut cartrdige. All of my cuts were made using Walk In My Garden. I chose to make an easel style card.
Flaunt It Fridays Challenge #16 - Birthday Bash
Since I do not own the birthday bash cartridge I opted to use the bunny from Create A Critter and the present from Smiley Cards. The patterned paper is from the dollar section of the target scrapbooking aisle. The sentiment is My Pink Stamper. I put the bunny on an Action Wobble to give him more "bounce", LOL!!
Take Out Box for Easter Goodies
I made this "takeout box" using a cut file I downloaded from Cindy at crazy4crafting.blogspot.com
Thank you Cindy for such an awesome project and for the download too!! The polka dot paper is from a K and company paper pack. The colored cardstock is all Recollections from Michaels. The ribbon is actually some I picked up at Walmart a few years ago in the holiday section right after Easter.
I am entering this into the Bitten By The Bug 2 challenge. The challenge was to use the chick from the Easter 2010 cartridge. Both the chick and bunny are from there.

"Hippo" Birthday!! - Cricut Cardz Challenge
This is a 9x4 card. Again an unusual shape for me to make but I wanted to make this to enter it into the Cricut Cardz Challenge.
Square Frog Card - Fantabulous Cricut Challenge
This is a 5x5 card. Not a shape I do very often and larger than most cards I do. I tend to stick with A2 sized cards. I made this for a friend's birthday coming up. She loves frogs and hopefully will not be offended by the "toad" reference in the sentiment, LOL:-) I think I will enter this one in the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge going on this week.

Pinwheel Card
I have been wanting to make this type of card ever since I saw the tutorial on youtube. Check out http://dawnsstampingthoughts.net/ for the tutorial. I just love her videos and learn so much from her.
The paper is Creative Memories and Recollections and the sentiment is from Scrappy Moms.
Set of Notecards - Twinkle Toes
I am getting a jump start on some thank you cards for my daughters' dance teachers. The recital is not until the end of May but I am planning ahead because I know how busy April and May get. I am one of their dance teachers but they have 3 others besides me who are awesome at what they do!!
