PPPR design team

It's Wednesday and that means 2 things - 1.) it's the middle of the week and 2.) it's design team day for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons!!  Today I am sharing a card I made for Valentine's Day.  I used the Frog Prince Cutting Files to make my cute little froggie - who can resist that face?!  I had the perfect sentiment to go with this from the Cardz TV stamps' set "Toad-ally Awesome".

Don't forget to check out the rest of the design team's projects by heading over to the PPPR blog.

"Toto" thank you card

I wanted to share a quick (okay, let's be honest here. . . nothing I make is actually "quick" ) thank you card I made today.  I created this for my daughter to give to her classmate/friend.  My youngest daughter was recently cast as Dorothy in their spring school play.  Her friend brought her the cutest stuffed Toto animal as a congratulatory gift/momento.  So thoughtful. . .   anyway, my card uses a file from the Silhouette store for my dog.  The sentiment is from Cardz TV stamps "Heartfelt Wishes" set.  Thanks for stopping by today - hope your week is off to a good start!

PPPR Valentine's Day Blog Hop

Today is the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Valentine's Day Blog hop.  You should have arrived here from Melisa's blog.  If you didn't start from the beginning of the hop, feel free to head over to Lisa's blog so you can start the hop from the beginning.  Lisa is offering some great blog candy so you will not want to miss out!!  Each of the design team members is creating a project with Valentine's Day in mind and we are showcasing Lisa's wonderful cutting files, clipart and digital paper.  My project is a Batman Valentine.  This was designed with our former neighbor boy in mind.  He is 7 years old and he and my 10 year old daughter were the best of buds when they lived next door.  He is one of those boys who gets into something and becomes fixated on it for a year at a time.  It was dinosaurs, sharks, Star Wars and now it is Batman.  I used the Superhero Trio cutting files to cut our Batman.  I also used the Layered Labels 2 to create my sentiment. I did a print and cut for the actual sentiment because I did not own this saying in stamp form.  The hearts are from the Little Hoot cutting files

I am going to let you in on a little secret.  Before I made the batman easel card I had originally made a batman shaped card.  Batman is supposed to be holding a garland of hearts.  However, after closer inspection of this card, I realized it actually looked a bit obscene, yikes!  So what is your opinion - do you think I should send the easel card or the shaped card to our neighbor boy?  I can't wait to read your comments!!

Back to the blog hop - now it is time to head over to Barb's Blog to see what she has made.  Don't forget about the great blog candy.  For a chance to win, you must be a follower of each blog on our hop and leave a comment on each blog. For extra chances, you can also "LIKE" Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons on Facebook and/or sign up for the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Newsletter.

Here is the full  lineup for the hop in case you get "lost" along the way.

Welcome back to another Cut It Up Challenge!!  This time the theme is Love - "Create a Valentine's Day project" - don't forget you need to include a die cut!!  My whole project is a die cut.  It is actually a file I purchased last year and never got around to making so this was the perfect opportunity.  My svg for this project came from Lettering Delights.  All of the cuts are from the same set.  My paper is from K and Co and I added some liquid pearls, my own crinkle ribbon, twine and some bling.  This mailbox is actually quite large, I tested it out and it can fit 3x3 sized cards easily.

Thanks for making it through the plethora of pictures!!
Now it is your turn!!  I can't wait to see what you make :-)  The prize for one lucky person is -

Hoppy Birthday

Happy Saturday my fellow bloggers!  I needed a quick birthday card this morning for a last minute birthday party that my youngest daughter was invited to.  I decided to pull out my Cricut and use Create a Critter because those images go together so quickly.  Besides, as my children are growing older I am getting fewer opportunites to use this cute images.  I also decided to break out my Cards TV Stamp set "Toad-ally Awesome" (which by the way is totally awesome!!)

I did do a little bit of inking around the edges of my patterned paper and the pond but other than that I kept it pretty simple.  Everything is glued flat and I added a couple of small buttons and a gem for some dimension.  I always like to use my scraps on the inside of my card to tie it in with the outside.  Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you are having a fabulous weekend!

PPPR Design Team Day - Snowflake Layout

Welcome back to another design team day for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  Today I have another scrapbook layout for you - a one page layout that I designed to go with some pictures I took last January when we had some snow.  We don't get snow often in Eugene as we are in a valley and it doesn't get cold enough to turn the rain to snow very often.  For my layout I used the Snowflakes Cutting Files which was actually a freebie a few weeks back.  It is very reasonably priced at just under a $1 and let me tell you these snowflakes are gorgeous and they go together so quickly and easily too!

I used some red and silver Liquid Pearls to embellish my snowflakes and it is hard to see in the photo but the white paper in my snowflake has a pearlescent sheen to it.  My stamped sentiments are from Cardz TV stamps - "Snow Day" set.  Make sure you head on over to PPPR blog to see the rest of the design team's projects.  Here is a peek at one of the newest sets that Lisa has released.  You can shop the PPPR store HERE.

Cut It Up "In with the New" challenge

Happy Friday and welcome back to another Cut It Up Challenge!  This time our theme is "In with the New" - Create a paper project with a new crafty item that you got for the holidays. Didn't get any crafty items? No worries, use something from your stash that you bought and have not used yet. Must use a die cut.

I chose to use some of my new goodies from a Secret Santa exchange I was involved with over at Cardz TV Stamps design team.  I received a set of Spellbinders dies, my very first set ever and used these to create the large cream scalloped circle.  I also received some new 6x6 paper pads and used some of my new papers on my card.  The flower cut is from the Silhouette online store and the sentiment is from Cardz TV stamps.

This week's prize is sponsored by Cut It Up -

Now it is your turn, head on over to the Cut It Up challenge BLOG to see some more inspiration from the rest of the design team and to enter your project!!

Mini Tissue Holders

Happy Monday!!  I am enjoying the last day of winter break - tomorrow my kids go back to school and the crazy schedule begins again!  I wanted to share with you some mini kleenex holders I made this weekend.

My cardstock is from Recollections and the patterned paper is from a $1 set I got at Target last year.  The flower is from the Silhouette Online store (I think it might be one of the freebies that came with our software).  I used some of my homemade crinkle ribbon and the sentiment comes from Cardz TV Stamps' set "Heartfelt Wishes".

I got my inspiration as well as my cut file for the project from HERE.  For those of you who are not able to cut svg files, HERE is a tutorial for cutting/scoring by hand.

Snowman Thank You's

Well, it has been awhile since I have posted but I feel like I am finally finding the calm after the storm (a.k.a. the Holidays) and wanted to share with you some thank you cards I made for my children to send out to family.  We have been having some colder than normal temperatures here (but alas, no snow) and was inspired to make some winter-y feeling thank you cards.  My snowman came from Gypsy Wanderings.  My sentiment is from Cardz TV Stamps' "Snow Day" set.  I made two different designs for my set of cards.  I wanted to give sewing on my cards a try.  I was only successful on 2 cards that way and would appreciate any of your sewing on paper tips for my future tries at this :-)  The other cards I created a snow border at the bottom using my Creative Memories wavy trimmer.  Thanks for stopping by today!
