Birthday Cake - CTVS 3d Challenge

T.G.I.F.!!  and time for another Cardz TV Stamps 3d challenge and this time the theme is "Birthday".  Here is my project -

For my cake slice I used a file from the SVG Attic "Make a Wish" collection.  My sentiments are from Cardz TV Stamps' "Make a Wish" set.

I embossed the top layer of my cake slice to make it look more like chocolate frosting and then added lace trim and pearls to continue the frosted look.  Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to visit Cardz TV blog to see the rest of the design team's projects and to link up your project for a chance to win a set of Mary's stamps.

Cut It Up challenge #4: Create a Halloween/spooky themed project

***for the Cardz TV Stamps "Fall-o-ween Challenge" go HERE***

Welcome back to another Cut It Up Challenge.  This time the challenge is to create  Halloween/spooky themed project.  Don't forget that your project needs to involve a die cut.  I decided to use a file from SVG Attic to create this fun 3d witch's hat.  I am certainly no expert in the art of 3d paper piecing but I do enjoy a good challenge and gluing this cute little baby together was definitely that :-)  The designer paper is from a few random packs of Studio G papers I have in my stash.  The flair button is also Studio G from Walmart.  The button, ribbon and cardstock are all Recollections.  The great halloween twine is from Trendy Twine who happens to be this week's sponsor!!  I love this twine - I fear I may hoard it, I like it so much, LOL!  The rosette is cut from this Lettering Delights file.

Trendy Twine is the sponosr for this challenge.  Check out this awesome prize - don't you want to win this???  Well, get to it now, create a Halloween/spooky project including a die cut and enter the Cut It Up challenge HERE.  While you are at it make sure to check out the rest of the inspiration provided by the Cut It Up design team.

Happy Friday everyone!!  Today is my DT day at SVT Attic and I want to share with you a spring home decor project using the SVG Attic Spring Captions set.  I picked up a picture frame at a second hand store for less than $1.  I used some white acrylic paint to "pretty" it up.  I decided not to use the glass that came with the frame for this project.  The butterfly and the grass are from the Easter Elements set.  The cute little ladybugs are stickers from Recollections.  I love the titles in the Spring Captions set.  The flowers and "Welcome Spring" are from that set.  I think a lot of the titles in this set would make great scrapbook page titles:-)  Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a great weekend!!

Baby Congrats Card

****For the CardzTV challenge post go here****

SVG Attic DT Day
Happy Friday everyone!!   I want to share with you a card I made for our elementary school principal and his wife because they are having a child soon.  I used the Baby Girl Set and cut the onesies out in different colored papers.  The grass border is from the Easter Elements set and the clouds are from the Go Green set.  I hand cut my clothesline poles and tied some twine on.  The tiny clothespins I found at my local grocery store in their craft aisle, aren't they adorable!  I made this a 5x7 card so I could fit all of these fun cuts on the front without too much crowding.  The sentiment is from ShabbyChicStampCo's "greeting set".

inside of card - added another onesie here too:-)
Don't forget that the St. Patrick's day sets at SVG Attic are 50% off until March 17th.  Make sure to check out the current freebie file - it can also be purchased at a 25% discounted rate if you would prefer.

Cardz TV Design Team challenge #7

Happy Friday everybody!!  I have another challenge post for you with the Cardz TV design team.  Mary challenged the design team to make a card using a sketch that she provided.  I will show you the sketch at the end of my post so that you can use it to inspire your creativity too!  I think this may have been the first time I have ever used a sketch to design a card.  It really challenged me and I think I did okay for my first try using a sketch.  However, wait until you see the rest of the design team's projects!!  Quite honestly, after I saw a few of their cards I wanted to go back and tear mine up and try again but time did not allow my ego to get the best of me:-)

My entire card was inspired by the sentiment "butterfly kisses" from the CardzTV stamp set "Think Spring"  which I think is still my favorite stamp set of Mary's to date:-)  I used some beautiful butterfly paper from the new DCWV Spring Fling stack.  This determined my color scheme.  The butterflies are cut from SVG Attic's Easter Elements collection.  I cut out my sentiment in a flag shape and curled it a bit using my pencil.  Added button, twine, bow and pearls and a border punch and voila!  my card is done:-)

Here is the sketch picture for you!!  Mary will be giving away a set of her stamps so you will definitely want to get your craft mojo going and link up your project at CardzTV.

Welcome Spring - SVG Attic Blog Hop

Happy Friday everyone!!  I hope it was a good week for you:-)  Today the SVG Attic design team along with some of our fabulous customers are showcasing this wonderful new svg set - "Welcome Spring".  I am excited to see what everyone has created this time because none of us have seen each other's projects yet and this is such a FABULOUS set that I am sure it has inspired some great creativity!!  The beginning of the hop starts at the SVG Attic blog.  You should have arrived at my blog after visiting Jessica.

I chose to make the watering can for my project today.  I used the new "spring fling" DCWV paper stack from Joanns.  I made some crinkle ribbon to match my project and a matching stick pin too.  I added the butterfly from the birdhouse to my project with some black 20 gauge wire.  I did a bit of inking on the edges of my can and also cut an extra flower layer and ran two of the layers through my cuttlebug.  I sprayed all of my flower pieces with some glimmer mist and used glossy accents on the holes in the spout to make it look like water.  The cute little ladybug is a sticker from Michaels.

Your next stop on the hop is Jessica L.  To purchase the "Welcome Spring" set go here.  You can also visit and "like" the SVG Attic facebook page so you can keep up to date on all the latest svg sets.  If you get lost along the hop, here is a list of all the blogs that participated today.  Have a fabulous weekend and I hope that spring is beginning to make its way to you:-)

Spring Cards

I have a few spring cards to share with you guys today.  I know most of us are ready for spring to show up and stay.  We got a taste of it this weekend and now we are back to the cold, yuck!  Both of these cards were made using the tulip svg from SVG Attic's "Easter Elements" set.  At first glance it may seem like a very simple set but there are so many possibilities with this set!!  I have tons of ideas rolling around in my head, now if I only had tons of time to put them into reality!   The sentiments are from Cardz TV stamp set "Think Spring" - I love this set!

these are a cute set of 3x3 notecards

using perfect pearls for the embellishment

Don't forget about SVG Attic's free gift with purchase for this week!!  This is an absolutely fabulous set and the design team is going to be showcasing it on Friday.   Make sure you stop back in on Friday to see what the design team created using this set.  Don't forget to hurry and pick this great set up while it is a freebie!!  If you make a project with it we would like to share it with our blog hop on Friday:-)

Leprechaun Hat using St. Patricks Day "Go Green" Set from SVG Attic

Hello everybody and happy Monday!!  I hope you had a great weekend and that your Monday is off to a good start:-)  I wanted to share with you a shaped card I made using the Leprechaun Hat from the "Go Green" svg set from SVG Attic.  I created a shadow using SCAL 3 and welded 2 of the shadows together to create the base of the card.  I cut out 2 hats, one in black for the outside of the card and the other in a light green for the inside of the card.  I did a little embossing with my cuttlebug, a little doodling with my white gel pen and used some green liquid pearls to jazz up the card.  The sentiment is hand written by moi.  I hope this inspires your creativity for St. Patrick's Day.  There are some great sets at SVG Attic to help you get your Irish on:-)  Check out the set I used and the Celtic Knots set (I will have a project for you in the future using this set:-)

SVG Attic Design Team Day

Happy Friday everyone, Nicole here and today is my day to post a project for SVG Attic!!

My project for today is a cute box and gift card holder.  I made this for a family friend who is celebrating her 14th birthday on Saturday and has invited all 3 of my daughters to her party.  This particular 14 year old has a sweet tooth so we will be filling the box with some sugary treat along with a gift card to one of her favorite stores:-)

Inside of gift card holder

I used the puffy boxes svg collection to make the box.  I wanted it to resemble a cupcake so I cut it out twice in two different papers.  I trimmed the blue polka dotted paper so that it looked like a cupcake wrapper.  I then glued the pink box inside of the polka dotted "wrapper".  Using the same bright colors I made the gift card holder using the be mine set.  This gift card holder is so quick and easy to make - I know I will be using it a lot because we do a lot of gift cards for presents.  But, don't let this set fool you, even though it appears to be a Valentine/love related set, it could be used for so many different occasions.  Included in this set is a 3d rose!!  We all know that 3d paper flowers are all the rage right now.  I am currently working on putting some together.  There is a great tutorial for putting these flowers together on youtube.

Recipe:
cardstock -  Recollections and My Minds Eye (blue paper)
ribbon, flower, gems - Michaels

SVG Attic Design Team Day

*** This is my 2nd post of the day:-)  Make sure you check out the Cardz TV Stamps design team post here ***

So today is my day to post a project using SVG Attic's wonderful svg files.  I am so excited to be a part of the SVG Attic design team and after working with Jessica's files I am even more excited. I was sooo happy when I saw the 3d Valentine boxes in the Heart Shaped Box set.  I decided to work with this set give the woven basket a try.  I love the mix of brown (which resembles chocolate:-) with red.  I also made the penguin card using the My Valentine set.  I referred to the pdf files for both of these projects that come with the file set when you purchase them.  Let me say that both of these projects went together quickly!!  I highly recommend using a wet glue with a bit of "forgiveness" when putting the basket together that way it gives you time to shape it as you are glueing it.

I really want to point this out to those of you who may be new to using svg files.  I know a lot of us have gotten Silhouette Cameos over the last few months and it may be your first time playing with svg files.  I work with SCAL 3 (sure cuts a lot).  The SVG Attic files come with a pdf file that give you help in putting together your projects.  I love the way Jessica makes her files easy to size - this is not the case with all svg files I have worked with.  Anyhow, onto the actual project but let me just say if you have any questions about working with svg files  feel free to leave me a comment on my blog.

I am entering my projects in the following challenges:

SVG Attic design team - February challenge "use a heart"

So, I get to let the cat out of the bag today (insert big grin here:-) I have been selected to join the SVG Attic design team!!  I am so excited to work with Jessica and the rest of these talented ladies.  I have followed a few of these ladies' blogs for awhile now.  I am also enjoying working with my Silhouette Cameo and Scal 3.  For my project I challenged myself to work with the "print and cut" feature with the cameo.  I must confess I do not have it perfected yet using Scal 3 but it is getting better each time.  In fact, when I was really having issues in the beginning stages, the great people over at Craftedge (makers of Scal) worked with me and tweaked their software to make it work better.  Don't you love it when you receive great customer service!!

I used the heart tree from SVG Attic's "Give a Hoot" collection which you can find here.  I printed out the trunks of my trees as well as my sentiment.  I then cut the hearts for the trees.  I popped up the center heart with some foam tape and added a red heart brad to it.  I used another heart on the inside of the card to keep the theme going there too.

Make sure you head over to SVG Attic blog to meet the rest of the design team and get some more inspiration for the February challenge.  I encourage you to join us in this challenge - after all, what better month to make a project using a heart??  You can find out all the "specifics" over at the blog!!

Stop back in on Friday and see how I used a file from this new SVG Attic Heart Shaped Box set to make a cute Valentine's gift!!
