Dtsarts Design Team - Milk Cartons and Carrier

I was so excited to work on this project!!  I have always loved the milk carton projects I have seen posted over the last few years.  Finally I can make one of my own:-)  I chose to go with a Halloween theme and plan to fill the cartons with a variety of candy.  You can purchase this svg file here.    It is a fabulous deal on sale for only $3.00!!  Included you get the mini milk carton file and two different carriers.  One to hold 4 milk cartons (double) and one to hold 2 milk cartons (single).  You also get your choice of bottoms - scallop, no scallop, tall bottom or shorter bottom.

My project uses the double carrier to hold 4 mini milk cartons and I used the tall bottom with the scalloped edge.

The whole project went together rather quickly.  The score lines help you with folding the boxes up correctly.  I do suggest you read the directions included with the files first so that you aren't confused:)  Thanks for stopping by today and please check out Dtsart blog and see the projects the rest of the design team made.  You will love how creative everyone was with this same file - no two projects look alike!!

WILD AND FABULOUS Blog Hop

Welcome to the WILD AND FABULOUS Blog Hop!!!   Today we are sharing some super fun and super girly projects with you!

If you've come from visiting Susan then thanks for hopping along!! If you're just visiting and would like to start from the beginning you can go to Inking It Up Crazy.  You will want to check out each blog for some great ideas and some sweet blog candy.

I chose to make a card using the purse from Pasley Cartridge.  I cut it out at 3.5" and added some bling to dress it up a bit.  I also made this A2 sized box.  One of my friends' birthdays was last week and I missed out on doing something for her so these will become hers.  What is going in the box is still a mystery - maybe a gift, maybe some homemade cards, maybe both, suggestions??

I have some blog candy for you today:-)  I do ask that you be a follower and that you have a United States address for this one, thanks.  Just leave me a comment and a way to get a hold of you if you are the lucky winner.  I will draw a winner on Monday, September 26th.

Inking It Up Crazy DT Project - least used cricut cartridge

Kassidy challenged the DT to use their least used cricut cartridge on their projects this week.  I have owned Snow Friends for almost 2 years now and this was the first time I have ever used it.  Sad, I know!!  I found the little cuts for the face annoying to work with so I am thinking next time I will either use a marker to color them in or a peachy keen stamp.  I also used my snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder.  Be sure to head over to Kassidy's blog to see what the rest of the team created.  Let this challenge help you to pull out the dusty cricut cartridge that feels neglected and is anxious to be used:-)

DtsArts Design Team - Swirly Frames

It's time for another post for DtsArts Design Team.  This week we are working with the swirly frames.  I did my first scrapbook layout in years (talk about being behind, lol!!)  If you follow my blog you know that we went to Disneyland this summer.  So, I used a couple of the frames from this svg set to enhance my photos and also used the swirl element to embellish the page some more.  I love the way this layout came together with the help of the swirly frames and if you look closely you can see the designer paper has swirls on it too!!   Thanks for looking and hop on over to Dtsart to view the great svg files and also to Dtsart Blog and see what the rest of the design team did!!

Back to school/fall themed blog hop

Back to school/Fall themed blog hop
Setpember 10, 2011

Thank you for joining me on another blog hop!!  For today's project I chose the back to school theme.  My kids started school the middle of this week so I am still in the back to school mode.  I have wanted to make a crayon wreath for awhile now.  My youngest daughter is in 4th grade and I figured I better make one for her teacher now cuz she isn't going to want to give one to her teacher when she is in high school, wink, wink:-)  It was actually not as difficult as I feared.  I wrapped red ribbon around a styrofoam ring which I bought at Joanns.  I used my hot glue gun to attach the crayons.  I layered my cuts with a couple of shadows to make them a bit sturdier and then attached them to the wreath with the hot glue gun.  I looped some ribbon on the top to help hang the wreath.   I chose to use white vinyl for the teacher's name because it cuts better and yes, we call our teachers by their first name.  I am also entering this into My Pink Stamper's Pinkalicious Blog Hop challenge.

Recipe:
scissors - simply charmed
backpack - doodlecharms
pencil - smiley cards
apple - create a critter
chalkboard - svg, but could easily make one with george
teacher's name - lyrical letters

Teddy Bear Blog Hop

Welcome to the teddy bear blog hop!!  You should have arrived here from Sher's blog.  Today's blog hop is all about teddy bears!!  When I saw that Jen was hosting a blog hop about teddy bears I knew I had to join in:-)  I have loved teddy bears since I was little.  I finally gave up sleeping with one when I got a real one (a.k.a. my hubby:-)
For my project I chose to make a teddy bear shaped card using the teddy bear from Create a Critter.   I am going to send this one to my niece and wish her a "Happy Belated Bear-thday!!"  since I missed the real deal, oops:-(   I used a little glossy accents on the eyes and mouth and doodled with my white gel pen.

I have some blog candy for you today.  I would love it if you were a follower but it is not required.  I am only shipping to US addresses, sorry guys.  Here's a pic of today's blog candy -

Just leave a comment and a way for me to get a hold of you.  The hop will continue all weekend long and I will pick a random winner on Monday.   Here is the blog lineup in case you didn't start at the beginning:

Menu Board

It's time for another challenge by Kassidy for the fall 2011 Inking It Up Crazy Design Team.  This time the challenge was a home decor project and to use vinyl if possible.  I chose to make a vinyl project for our kitchen.  My oldest daughter has been asking me daily "what's for dinner tonight mom?"   Unfortunately all summer long I have not really had a plan.  Summer usually means very little routine and often a tighter budget so the two together do not make designing a menu very easy!  However in the school year I am much better at keeping a menu plan (and a budget:-).

This menu board was made using a 11x14 wipe off board.  I used Cricut black vinyl for all of my cuts.
I used Lyrical Letters for my font.  All of my kitchen cuts are svg's but you could also use "from my kitchen".

***Kassidy and the design team want to invite you to join us in this week's challenge.  Make a home decor project and include vinyl if you can. Thanks for looking and if you would like to join us in the challenge then head on over to Kassidy's blog to link up!!***

3d Backpack

This was my first project for DtsArts Design Team. I love this svg that Dardi created!!  I am going to use this cute little backpack to put a small gift in for my youngest daughter's teacher.  I chose the colors because they reminded me of school.  All of the paper is recollections.  I used my I rock for the bling and velcro to keep the flaps closed.

My expression died right before I got this cut and I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to make this project.  However, I learned to be creative because I really wanted to cut out this awesome svg.   I could have resized the svg to cut out on my baby bug but I wanted to cut it out at a bigger size. So, I used scal to print the template of the main part of the bag out on some 8x10 paper. I don't have a 12x12 printer so my size was limited by that factor. I flipped the svg so that I printed it on the back side of the paper. The smaller pieces I could cut with my baby bug. I used the tutorial on Splitcoastampers to help me put it together. Thanks for looking and check out DtsArt for this great file which happens to be on sale!!  Also check out Dardi's blog at dtsartblog.
