Easter Basket Shaped Card - JB dt

Happy Monday my crafty friends!!  I am up on the Jaded Blossom

 blog today to share an Easter card I created.

I cannot believe we are nearing the end of March and that Sunday will be Easter!!

I have had this idea behind today's card in my mind for quite some time now and I finally 

decided to give it a go!! 

Here is the card -

I used the following Jaded Blossom products on my card -

Cupcake Slider Die

Stitched Circle Dies

Spring Dies

Label Shape Dies 1

Bow Dies

Follow the Easter Bunny

To create the insert of the card I cut the cupcake insert but trimmed most of the top off. Next I used two different sizes of the circle dies and created the handle from them.  I cut the handle with white cardstock and also pattern paper so that it would be sturdy.  I glued the handle onto the card base I had created.  Next I cut the grass layer and then the Easter eggs.  Once I had arranged the eggs where I wanted them I glued the grass onto the eggs and trimmed off any extra egg layers hanging below the grass. Then I glued the grass/egg layer to the base of my card and added the bunny.  The centers of my flowers are created with Nuvo drops.  I am super happy with how the card turned out!!

For my first project I created a tag using the new Clear Jar Outline Dies and the new Clear Jar: Fruit Add Ons stamp set. 

For my second project I used the Clear Jar Outline Dies along with the new Hello Beautiful stamp set to create a thank you card.  I love how all of the sentiments from this new stamp set fit perfectly inside the clear jar.  I used the Flower Dies for the bouquet and also 

the Buffalo Plaid Stencil for my background.

Here's another look a bit closer at my card -

If you look closely you will see my raindrops are going the wrong way ;) !! 

This is my second attempt and both times I did this without even realizing it!!

I guess that wherever this gnome lives, rain falls down a bit differently, LOL!!

I used tumbled glass and faded jeans distress ink on the rain drops and scattered straw for the sun.

Here is what I created for today -

I used the new "Flower Stencil" and some shaded lilac distress oxide ink.  Next I used the new "Flower Centers and Leaves Stencil" and some twisted citron distress oxide ink.  These two stencils are meant to be used together - **quick tip: once you figure out how to layer them, put a mark in the corners of the stencils so that you remember how to layer them the next time you use them**.  I colored in an image from "Buzzing With My Gnomies" stamp set. I used the "Stitched Oval Dies", the "Cloud Stencil" and "Spring Dies 2" to create a background layer for my gnome.  The sentiment is from the new "Easter Wishes" stamp set.

I used the "Scallop Caddy Die" for my treat box.  I used the new "Bee Stencil" and did some dry embossing with it for my background layer.  The image and sentiment are from "Buzzing With My Gnomies" and the little bee images are from "Gnome Worries Bee Happy".  The sun and clouds were created using the "Spring Dies 2" die set.

I used a couple of blue shades of distress oxide ink to make my background and then used a water brush to create circles on top of the distress ink so as to create a water background for my fish.
