PDE challenge #34 - "Little Green Men"

Happy Friday everybody and welcome back to another Pause Dream Enjoy challenge.  This week the theme is "Little Green Men - ufo's, aliens or monsters in the closet).  I had so much fun with this challenge and I had the perfect monster cut from the Silhouette store to use for my project.  I also used a Lori Whitlock file from the silhouette store to make my card base (swing card).  The designer paper is from Michaels's and I used the tiny bubbles embossing folder.

The sentiment on the front of the card is from the Cardz TV stamp set "All about You" and the inside sentiment was a $ stamp from Michaels.
This week our challenge is sponsored by Clear Dollar Stamps and one lucky winner will get a $5 gift certificate to their store.

So, now it is your turn to create a project with "little green men" and maybe you will be that lucky winner to Clear Dollar Stamps!!  Click here to enter this week's challenge and to see the rest of the design team's projects for some inspiration!!
Now for those of you who don't own a Silhouette sd/cameo and want to make your own swing card, Splitcoastampers has a great tutorial here.

Guy Thank You Card

It seems like we all are challenged a bit when it comes to making cards for the male species but this time I think I "nailed it"!!  My hubby and I recently did some of our own concrete work (sidewalk and a driveway) and were fortunate enough to borrow some tools from a friend of ours who is a contractor.  We wanted to thank him and give him a gift certificate and my hubby suggested I make a card.  This is what I came up with - it is simple but effective I think!
The tools are from the Silhouette store and are Lori Whitlock files which can also be purchased in an svg format here.  The sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamp set "It's a Guy Thing".  I decided to make a tall card and on the inside I hand wrote "thanks for letting us play with your toys, here is a gift to buy yourself some new toys" and I included a gift card to Cabelas.

Cardz TV Challenge #13 "Color Me Happy"

Happy Friday everybody and welcome back to another Cardz TV challenge.  This time it is a color challenge and the colors we are using are - marigold yellow, royal blue, deep purple and gray.  Black and white can be used sparingly if needed.
I find the trickiest part of these challenges isn't the color combos but somehow incorporating one of my Cardz TV sentiments with the color combo.  For this challenge I decided to use the Cardz TV Stamp set "It's a guy thing".   I used my Cameo to make my card and the surfboard files are from Christina Heeren.  All of my paper is Recollections and I embellished with some gray liquid pearls and my white gel pen.

The challenge runs August 17th thru August 23rd and you can link your project up here as well as view the rest of the Cardz TV design team projects for this challenge.  One winner will be randomly chosen from the entries and decided by using random.org.  The lucky winner gets a set of Cardz TV stamps!!  So, what are you waiting for??  Let's see what you can create with these 4 colors!!

Hope Happens

Today I am sharing a card I made for a girl named McKenzie who has been in the hospital waiting to have heart surgery.  I have never met McKenzie but she is the best friend of one of my dance students who also happens to be a very close friend to both of my older girls.  McKenzie is a runner and for some crazy reason her heart is not healthy.  I do not know the details as all of the information I am getting is being translated by my teenage daughters from a teenager but I do know it has been a difficult road of trying to stabilize McKenzie so that she could have surgery.  My girls wanted to send a card to McKenzie to let her know we are praying for her and to keep her hopes up.

I used an svg from Lettering Delights set "Nancy's Party" which is on currently on sale so if you don't have this set you might want to go snag it today!  My cardstock is all Recollections and the sentiment is from Scrappy Moms.  I used a Peachy Keen stamp to give my cloud a smiling face.

I love to decorate the inside of my cards too:-)

PDE design team Challenge #32: "Around the Farm"

Welcome back to another Pause Dream Enjoy challenge!!  This week is all about the farm!!  I spent a great portion of my childhood growing up in Wisconsin however it was not on a farm.  I did have a few friends who grew up on dairy farms so I have a bit of understanding of what farm life is like:-)  I have wanted to make a pop up slider card for some time now.  I have seen so many amazing ones recently.  I used a cutting file from Birds Cards for the base of my card.  The cow stamp is from Market Street Stamps.  I inked the edges of my card with Tim Holtz tea dye distress ink.  I used my Bic markers to add some color to the cow.  The sentiments are from My Pink Stamper and Scrappy Moms.

This week our challenge is sponsored by Clear Dollar Stamps and one person will receive a $5.00 gift certificate to their store.

You have until noon EST Thursday, August 16th to enter your project for this project.  Link up your project here.

floating frame and matching card

Happy Wednesday!!  I wanted to share my first attempt making a monogrammed floating frame with vinyl.  I created this for one of my former dance students and now currently a coworker who got married this past Sunday.  I purchased the split alphabet from Paper Pastime.  The frame is from Joanns.  I made a matching 5x7 card by printing the monogram for the front.  On the inside of the card I made a pocket to slide in a gift card.  The sentiment is from Cardz TV stamps.

Happy Birthday x2!!

Happy Saturday my bloggy buddies:-)  Yesterday I worked hard helping my husband with concrete work.  We put in a walkway alongside our carport and a few curbs to keep our paving stones in place.  After a hard day of working I am taking today off and having a bit of "therapy" - paper style!!  I needed 2 birthday cards for this evening (nothing like waiting until the last minute) for my youngest daughter.  She has a birthday party to go to for 2 of her friends' birthdays, thus the need for 2 cards.  I used my cameo and a few files from the store to create this card.  I stamped a sentiment on the inside from Cardz TV stamp set "ticket talk".

I am entering this in the following challenges -

Die Cutting Divas - Anything Goes
Little Scrap Pieces - Birthday challenge

3d flip flop box

Hello there blogging buddies!!  I hope your week is going well!  My youngest daughter has a birthday party to go to tonite and I was in need of some crafting therapy so I got out my supplies and sat down and made this 3d flip flop box to give to her friend.  This box is a free svg file I got from here some time ago and am just now making it.  I have seen several wonderful examples of this floating over the internet and mine is certainly not going to put any of those to shame but I am pleased with how it turned out and my daughter loves it which makes me happy!  We put a couple of the smaller presents for her friend inside.
