This week Kassidy challenged her design team to try a new card fold for our project. I decided to try a side step card and followed the tutorial over at Splitcoaststampers. The card itself is not too difficult to make but the decorating of it was a bit more time consuming. However, I feel it was time well spent (it is afterall my "therapy" time:-) and I am quite pleased with the end result. All of my cuts are from Simply Charmed and I used a stamp from My Pink Stamper. The designer paper is from last year's Target dollar bin paper. I embellished it with Christmas twine from Doodlebug and some bling.
Don't forget to head over to Kassidy's blog to see the rest of the design team's projects. Also, challenge yourself to try a new card fold - it is always fun to try something new and creatively satisfying too:-)

DtsArt Design Team - Reindeer SVG
This week the design team got to play with Dardi's new reindeer svg. He is so cute with all of the jingle bells around his neck. I decided to make him into a reindeer shape card by creating a shadow and copy/paste and weld together. I love shaped cards, don't you? Please check out Dardi's blog to see what the other design team members did with their projects and don't forget you can purchase the svg file for yourself here. Don't delay, the file is on sale right now!

DtsArt Design Team Day - Keurig cup projects
I think this is soooo clever!! I haven't seen anything like this before so this was really fun to try!! You do need to have empty Keurig cups for this file but if you ask around people are usually willing to share:-) at least it worked for me!! I used the file as a pilgrim's hat but one of the design team members had a completely different take on it so make sure you head over to DtsArt blog to check out the rest of the team's projects.
I am planning on using these for Thanksgiving and will probably fill them with mints for after dinner.
To buy this file click here
**couple of hints for putting these together**
-use red sticky tape, Zip dry was messy:-(
-test cut on some cheap cardstock (I recommend the white package from walmart) because we found there is some variation in the Keurig cup sizes
-if you have any problems feel free to contact me or Dardi
I am entering this in the following challenges-
Whimsical Wednesday - create a Thanksgiving card/project
My Craft Spot -gobble til you wobble

Cardz TV design team
Yesterday I received such a wonderful surprise - I found out that I am on Cardz TV's design team!! Needless to say I was very excited and humbled to be chosen. The list of designers includes some amazingly talented people ( some of them seem "famous" to me cuz I have been following their blogs for so long) and some new-to-me faces. I am looking forward to working with this talented bunch and designing/representing Mary's line of stamps.

Football Shape Birthday Card - Go Ducks!!
I must confess I am really bad at getting cards to people in a timely manner especially in the fall. My life is extra hectic with the addition of weekend rehearsals for our studio's winter ballet so it is harder for me to keep up and be organized. Anyway, enough of that, I wanted to share a birthday card I made for my brother-in-law whose birthday was almost 2 weeks ago:-( He is a die-hard University of Oregon football fan. I used a football svg file I found online to make his card. I used the small spots embossing file. The "O" is cut from some University of Oregon football scrapbooking paper I found at the local scrapbook store. In fact I have another project I have used that paper for and will get it posted soon.
I stamped and embossed the inside with a stamp from the $1 bin at Michaels.
I am going to enter this in the following challenges -
Die Cuttin Divas -it's football season
My Sheri Crafts - all about sports

I have known about this company for awhile now but love learning about them and how they "got here". Such creativity and wonderful tutorials!! Check them out at svg cuts
Handy Dyed Crinkle Ribbon
I have been drooling over this ribbon for quite some time now but being the frugal crafter that I am I just couldn't quite bring myself to buying it. I found a tutorial to make it and decided I would give it a go. I didn't want to invest in the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist at this point because it is quite costly for one bottle (at least at my local craft store it is) so I used a coupon at Michaels and tried some Smooch Spritz. The seam binding is Hug Snug and I got it at Zipperstop. It comes with 100 yards so it is a good investment. I am pleased with the first two attempts at this.
I am sure that my end product is not as nice looking as those that I could buy but I am hoping with practice I will get better. Anyhow, my youngest daughter has a birthday party to go to today and the mom insisted "No Presents!" so I bought her 2 small trinkets to "hold" down a birthday balloon and was hoping not to get myself in trouble for this:-) The birthday girl is on my daughter's soccer team and also a friend from church so we had to show her how much we love her somehow, right?! I used my new purple crinkle ribbon and attached it to a gift bag made from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More - added a button and some twine, tied on the balloon, put in the goodies and a small gift card and we are ready:-)
I am wanting to try using alchohol inks for dyeing the seam binding. Anybody used these yet? There is a set at Michaels in the perfect Christmas colors so I think that may be my next attempt!! I will post pics, promise!!
**Stay tuned this week for an absolutely adorable project from DtsArt!! It is a cute Thanksgiving project and I haven't seen anything out there like this before so check in on Wednesday to see what I am talking about!!
Have a blessed weekend my bloggy friends:-)
