U+I=chemistry - PPPR dt

Happy Monday my crafty friends!! Today is my turn to post over on the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons' BLOG and I have a card to share with you that I made to give my hubby for Valentine's Day.

I used the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons' "Science of Love" cutting files for the image on my card. I didn't have a sentiment stamp that worked with what I had in my mind so I used two scrabble type stickers and then hand wrote the rest. It is hard to see in the picture but I used some Wink of Stella to add a bit of glitter to all of my hearts.

Just a heads up - this weekend is this month's Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons' design team blog hop. I hope you will be able to hop along, the theme this time is "Gettin' Crafty".

Here is what I made..

I went with a more simple card, no coloring this time but used several of the Craftin Desert Divas' die sets to create my card. For both of my card layers I used the "Fancy Frame Dies". This is probably, without a doubt, my most frequent choice of die sets to use on my cards - they work for so many types of cards and add that little bit of extra with the stitching. Next up I used the "Party Dies" to create my balloon bouquet. I cut all of the hearts along with the bow from that die set. This is another fabulous die set to own with so many fun ways to play with all of the dies that come in this set. Finally, to create my sentiment I used two different stamp sets - "Tons" mini stamp set for the first part of the phrase and "Farmer's Market" stamp set for the last part of the phrase. My background paper is from the Doodlebug 6x6 "Sweet Things" paper pad which is also available in the CDD shop HERE.

Roller Skating Layout - PPPR dt

Happy Monday!! Today is my turn to post over on the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons' BLOG and I have a scrapbook layout to share with you. I was inspired by my design teammate "Nanne" to use print and cut on some of my layout to help it go together faster and to be able to add more layers to it. This is what I came up with -

My photograph is of my husband and I at the local roller skating rink so I tried to pull in as many elements as I could that reminded me of things I would see or do at the roller skating rink. Here are some closeups -

Most of my cuts are print and cut except for the star which I cut out with colored cardstock. I did do the layers for the tickets but used the print and cut feature to do them. Here are the PPPR files I used to create my layout -

CDD January Stamp and Die Release Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to the CDD January Stamp & Die Release Blog Hop.

Here's what I've created for you...

for my first project I have a shaker card I created using the "Fancy Stitched Label Dies" for my opening and tag for my sentiment, and the "Sweet Wishes" stamp set and coordinating SVG file for my image and sentiments.

I filled the inside of my card with both the "Coral Heart Sequins" and the "Pink Heart Sequins".

For my second project I created a tag using the "Fancy Stitched Label Dies" for my tag base. The cute little turtle is from the "Slow" mini stamp set. I also used a few older products from CDD on this project -

"Party Dies" - balloons
"Totally Turtle" - sentiment
"Across the Borders" - background stars (stamped with Versamark ink)
I also used a variety of sequins from several CDD sequin sets to finish off my tag.

CDD January Release Sneak Peek Day 4

Today is Day 4 of the sneak peeks for the January release at Craftin Desert Divas. We are doing the sneak peeks on our Facebook pages this month so you will want to head over to the Craftin Desert Divas Facebook page to begin the sneak peek lineup.

I have created a card for today's sneak peek using the "Sweet Kisses" stamp set. I created this shaker card using one of the new sequin sets - "Sweetness Sequin Mix".

Now I just want to say I am not the "shaker card queen" like some of my design team sisters are. It seems like every time I make one a mess up somewhere and somehow but in the end I am pretty happy with the result.

Both the image and the sentiment are from the "Sweet Wishes" stamp set.

CDD January Release Sneak Peek Day 2

Here is what I made..

I used CDD's "Banner Dies" to create my card base. I cut the top layer from a piece of white cardstock that I added a couple of strips of patterned paper to on the side. The bottom layer I cut from a heavier white cardstock. I scored the bottom layer about an inch from the top and used some strong adhesive to attach it to my top layer.

I used the CDD "Got Coffee" stamp set for my image and sentiment.

I didn't add a lot of dimension to my card because I wanted to be able to mail this easily. I used a masking technique in order to stamp my image four times to create the stacked coffee cups. I colored my images with my Spectrum Noir markers.
